@huugo
What would be the best way to tackle this problem?
- In the course of my job I take 100+ pictures a week of a house under construction (easily 5k-10k photos total)
- I need to look at those pictures all the time as reference, to see progress, to see what’s under something else (later in construction), to catch or prevent conflicts
Problem: it’s impossible to find the right photo at the right point in time and from the correct perspective. I spend a lot of time opening up folders looking for something and the closing, repeat.
Need: a way to browse photos of a similar area (a similar perspective would be killer) over time without needing to manually sort photos every week or take 3D scans of the house. Ideally, no change to current process :/
Things similar to what I’m thinking about:
- a Time Machine like UI that scrubs back in time over photos
- version history for each photo
- smart folders that auto sort by room, direction, etc
My guess is that gps metadata in the photos is not quite accurate enough to rely on that alone. Would love to discuss some ideas if anyone has one!
