October is down syndrome awareness month❤️💙
This is very personal to me because I also have a cousin with Down syndrome.
I’ve been wanting to say something about it, and seeing Madison share those things everyday makes me really wanna share something about it too.
I once heard someone say, “People with Down syndrome aren’t asking to be changed, they’re asking to be understood.”
And that stuck with me.
Because awareness isn’t just wearing blue and yellow; it’s learning to see the beauty in differences.
It’s realizing that kindness costs nothing, but it can mean everything to someone who’s been made to feel “less.”
People with Down syndrome carry an extra chromosome, but maybe it’s an extra dose of love, patience, and light the rest of us could use more of.
Let this month remind us to celebrate every unique spark.
Different isn’t broken. It’s brilliant. 💛💙
