Went on a fun sidequest last night and built something pretty cool. To really appreciate it, you'll need some background info first. It starts with this Instagram account: https://www.instagram.com/basset_book_reviews/ This is the account for my parents' dog, Ms. Lilly. My Mom managed it for about seven years, posting a photo and a short story every single day. Over that time, she built an incredible community of over 13,000 followers. It became a whole thing. She was even turning down sponsorship deals because she wasn’t interested in the business side; she just loved telling the stories. Since I don’t live at home anymore, I wanted to create something meaningful for my parents this Christmas to celebrate Ms. Lilly’s life. I decided to download all the data and build a dedicated website that acts as a searchable, living library of every post my Mom ever wrote. I used what I've been learning about LLMs and agents to build a search that makes it easy to find all the posts related to topics like "the warden" (my Mom) or one of Ms. Lilly’s famous "biscuit dances." But the coolest part is the chat feature. I built an agent that responds exactly like Ms. Lilly would. It uses the seven years of captions to "learn" her voice, so my parents can actually interact with her.
