BOB is building out its ecosystem as a Bitcoin-friendly modular L2. Native stablecoin support is a key part of that. Migrating to CCIP looks like a solid step in that direction. It also sets BOB up for a possible move to native USDC in the future

What’s happening under the hood
• Chainlink Labs sets up a CCIP pool on BOB
• BOB updates the contract to let that pool mint USDC
• Old bridge is paused and liquidity is moved to the new system
• Frontend gets updated to show the CCIP setup
• Bridging resumes using CCIP

If you already started a USDC withdrawal using the old bridge, no worries, it’ll still complete after the 7 day delay

The change affects the current bridged USDC (USDC.e) on BOB
The old bridge shuts down on June 4 at 1PM UTC
Bridging will pause for the switch and should be back up in under 24h

If you hold USDC on BOB, you don’t need to do anything. Your balance won’t change. The contract address stays the same. DeFi apps using USDC will keep working like before
