When I’m between meeting and cooking, I’ll often screenshot a recipe and ask ChatGPT to walk me through making it. The consistent format, ability to ask it questions and bonus tips are very handy. Today’s recipe is a Blackberry/Blueberry Cornmeal Tart.

Feeling this HN comment. I think google has made amazing progress with Gemini, as used for coding or other random tasks. It’s a great model. However, the lack of care given to integrating into their existing products (docs, gmail, etc) where they have distribution is mystifying.

The barrier to switching between VS Code/Cursor/Claude Code/ Cline is incredibly low. Interesting to see what happens to people selling inference below cost to gain marketshare. Long term, it seems like a really bad idea unless you are training a model or selling hosting.

Never outsource your thinking. Not to influencers, not to LLMs. Especially when it comes to tools you rely on to earn a living or support your family. The best way to learn any engineering tool is to build something small that matters to you. You'll find out fast what hurts and what helps.

Built a YouTube thumbnail generator using two stacks: Claude Code vs Cline + Kimi (on Groq). Cline stood out, open source, clean dev UX, transparent pricing. Groq + Kimi was fast and cheaper than Claude Sonnet. If Cursor’s getting too pricey, this setup is worth a look.
