wasn’t going to put this out there but it doesn’t matter 

the ok banger thing is like really cringe and not bc the phrase itself is cringe but bc it came as like a top down corpo mandate and suddenly started appearing everywhere. when you realize that there are financial incentives tied too it it becomes even more cringe. i really don’t get why farcaster/base culture is like this

i also still don’t get the obsession with tipping culture here like i can’t be the only one who things it’s super unnatural and weird to have monetary value directly tied to my likes/comments etc. like im always second guessing myself about whether or not i should interact bc of this. if i want to tip somebody for something cool they did i already can with the built in wallet!

anyways this is far from the biggest problem farcaster has, but im not a big fan

i just hope farcaster can find a way to grow network effects without this kind of stuff at some point bc i think the whole idea of financializing every single interaction is flawed

Yeah, sure nothing is perfect.  But the thing that excites me about this is that it’s not “allowances” moving around.  It’s peoples own money that they’re dedicating to this.

i still don’t think micro transactions is the way to go but i see the vision 

my thought is that bc interactions are financialized they will be gamed bc now ppl have a direct incentive to game it. this will end up with money actually flowing to the largest/most well known accts even more and the small/unknown accts still have little to no visibility and will not see the benefits

basically i think that by adding direct financial incentives to interacting with posts you actually reduce discoverability
