The C# programming language was designed by Anders Hejlsberg from Microsoft in 2000 and was later approved as an international standard by Ecma in 2002 and ISO/IEC  in 2003. Microsoft introduced C# along with .NET Framework and Visual Studio, both of which were closed-source.

Almost two decades have passed since the creation of C# and the .NET family, and it can be said that it is the most popular technology for developing enterprise applications after Java. Of course, it should be said that C# itself also inherited many things from Java.
