Codex has this disabled by default because you can install a rogue package and get all your envs and secrets get sent to some external server if the agents were to get instruction to do so. Interesting attack vector Honestly I would expect that the agent would be like oh yea that’s pretty shady I shouldn’t do it

So I’d like to think that models have gotten smart enough to not necessarily get “tricked” Here’s an example I was looking at Swiss pass at https://www.swiss-pass.ch/ Then the model correctly said hey that’s not the official site, and they’re charging you more on top, you should probably use sbb.ch

I think it’s a pretty interesting problem where “social engineering” an LLM will become a thing, “follow who’s direction” Imagine a robot where anyone could tell it stab that guy (owner)
