Apropos of...

After 30 years I am retiring this week from financial services. I’m done with it because it’s a low leverage industry that is going to be largely automated away. It’s a plumbing business (why I did well lol) and a relationship business and AI will replace the relationship side and crypto will eventually replace the plumbing side. And by AI I don’t mean fluffy friendly AI, although that will be the UI of it, but it’s just going to be objectively better as it’s about patterns. Financial planners are the cockroaches of the world that will always survive, but so will baristas.  I don’t want to be or serve either of them. I’ve had some interactions and insights that have made me realise that it’s all over for the big players.  Leverage is making and controlling AI. All else will fall before that.
