My submission to Claire Silver’s latest AI art contest responding to the prompt – why do you create?

Beyond the reflex to name it as compulsion or as a fundamental need (which it is) I’ve thought about why I have this specific need. 

The form if it isn’t quite sharp yet but I think that’s part of it – I create to bring new worlds to life, to travel through portals, to imagine what could be beyond what already is. The edges of it need to be hazy or so many of us wouldn’t feel the pull to add shape and colour and meaning to ✨it✨

This piece is a sampling through layers of these worlds I feel compelled to conjure up and shape. Multiple and separate visuals and sound generated from different times, tools and states of mind, reconnected. Something like remembering a place that doesn’t exist or a dream about the future. A quantum thread via human and machine and back again.
