BitVault raised $2M pre-seed funding from GSR, Gemini, and others. It’s launching bvUSD, a Bitcoin-backed stablecoin, and its yield version sbvUSD. The protocol will deploy on Katana, a new DeFi chain incubated by Polygon Labs and GSR. Using Liquity V2’s fork, it offers permissioned lending, user-set rates, and auto-liquidation. Mainnet launch is set for June 2025, with institutional borrowers being onboarded.
