The quest to remove these three Local Government Areas and merge them into new states have long started as at 80s. In fact, as at 1984, Orumba North and South was already being seen as Etiti state to be merged with Oji River LGA in Enugu, another 2 more LGA from Enugu and Ohazara LGA in Ebonyi state as Etiti state.
