Every seven years, almost every cell in your body is replaced. While not all cells regenerate at the same rate, and some (like neurons in your cerebral cortex) last a lifetime, many of your body’s cells, like those in your skin, liver, and gut are constantly renewing. This means that physically, you’re not exactly the same person you were seven years ago! It’s a poetic reminder that change is literally built into life.
