Today I met a founder of http://hairdao.xyz via a random intro request.

I thought it was going to be a social club for bald men. Instead I found an industrious founder on a mission.

The NIH in the US labels baldness so that it doesn’t get a lot of funding for research.

So these guys started a DAO to collect follicles and do independent research on treatments.

@gmo can explain this better than me but apparently hair follicles are a type of organ that doesn’t communicate with cells nearby by. So you can do experiments on them outside the body, highly scalable etc.

They have a lab in NYC, and sell their own treatments:

Finasteride and monoxidil are common, but confused by the inclusion of Liothyronine, which can cause hair loss.

Also haven’t heard of Levocetirizine for hair loss before. Interesting.
