Looks like Russia’s gearing up for another round of mobilization this fall.
The budget’s running dry, and they can’t afford to keep paying contract soldiers like before. On top of that, fewer and fewer people are signing up lately.

To get ready, the government has rushed through a bunch of new laws tighter censorship, more power for the FSB, and upgrades to their mobilization system.

They’re building a fully digital draft system now, with all the databases and registries linked up. Border guards already have access to it: if someone’s been called up and tries to leave the country, they’ll be stopped at the border.
