my mac mini is at 80C every morning when i get to my desk. its doing nothing overnight as far as i know, but its consistently super hot. then when i start using it, it cools off to baseline wtf is going on? am i part of a cryptomining botnet? how do i diagnose whats causing all the cpu cycles and/or heat?

I use atop on linux to see historical usage (you can record and view by date) - am guessing it should work on mac too.

did you check activity monitor under energy? what's running that has the highest energy impact?
