RIP to a real one. 🎶 🪦 🌹 🪦 🎶 @sound-xyz was something special, @davidgreenstein & co made a totally unique onchain offering, and it changed my life in 2024, and continued to in a very different way in 2025. ‘24 was about crazy earnings and mass mints, ‘25 was about making music with my small-ish children. Past that, Sound made me see onchain culture more broadly, beyond just tokens, trading, & DeFi. They pushed me to think more deeply about what the next billion folks onchain could look like, and how many of them might never knowingly touch a token, mint anything, etc… but that they’re just as valuable - maybe more! - than a high volume degen trader, and we need to account for them in our evangelism, if this thing of ours is to “make it”, long term. They’ll always hold a special place in my heart (the Sound team, obviously also my kids lmao) and I’m eagerly watching vault.fm (can’t find em on here!) to see if it’s the right venue for me to continue to pursue my hobby. (I philosophically/ethically refuse to support Spotify/Apple Music, but am too hobbyist-level [read: just a smol bean 🥺 lmao] to qualify for Tidal publication, I presume…) sad to see, but as Lao Tzu said: “all things arise and pass away” -- no limiters nor modifiers to that statement.
