got a land tour of the future walkable town of Esmeralda and learned of the infinite details that go into planning a village. much of it is inspired by the founder Devon's childhood summers in Chautauqua, NY and recently built communities like Las Catalinas, Serenbe, and Seabrook (now on my list to research / visit).

Seabrook (assuming you’re talking about Washington state) is an awesome story. The founder fought like hell to get that built.

Used to go every few months when we lived in Seattle. Father in law lived down the road in Ocean Shores, WA. Favorite thing was probably that you arrive out of the Washington coastal forest at this beautiful beach and a town on the bluff. The town makes you feel like you’re in a well established coastal community (like a Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard) even while it was building its first few streets. It must be massive now.
