i used to cohost a monthly web3 community friends private virtual meetup / strategy session also hosted a monthly public livestream with fellow cohosts of this very community channel π«Ά slowly, many of those friends moved on from web3/crypto and found other community passions like sports communities and hosting events and no longer could attend π₯Ή meanwhile, ive doubled down and took on the role as Head of Community at Aptos a few months ago im curious to spin up those virtual syncs again π who would be interested? @kbc @apurvkaushal @adam- @lawn.eth ?

Congrats at landing with Aptos. How've you found it there so far (and why do you think they aren't active on Farcaster?) I definitely miss the kind of chats when I ran community at SOC. It was easier to get people to commit to longer calls during the pandemic, but definitely a challenge lately.

thank you! loving it so far i enjoyed leading community at large companies, a DeFi startup, and now, being at a foundation / L1 i can support even *more* communities! (ie the Aptos community is excited about overall ecosystem wins and can be supportive of multiple projects and verticals) i would say theyre not as active here (yet?!) because farcaster doesnt support the move programming language however ive onboarded some aptos builders and colleagues irl βΊοΈ https://farcaster.xyz/poymeetsworld/0x498d3dc4

Tell me more about the move programming language and why its a barrier of entry for them currently? Would think their presence would bring more awareness to it if they were more active. In any case, I'm happy to hear that you've doubled down and leaned in with your community skillset. Aptos is lucky to have you.

The Move programming language was developed originally for safety, security, and simplicity in mind in comparison to other smart contract languages. Most of the time, I've been told it's just that they don't know Move! Many people I've talked to have told me they'd prefer Move over others. One Rust developer told me what took them months, took weeks to do on Move on Aptos.
