> Every other social media platform has thrived with no user incentive to post besides an audience. How many new at-scale social media platforms in the US in the last 10 years? Only 1. TikTok. And they spent $1B+ for multiple years on Facebook ads to acquire users. So instead of transferring that value to Meta, why not try to transfer it directly to the users building the network?

We sold subscriptions to fund this. Feels like you're making a bunch of bad faith arguments here.

If 10,000 people each buy Pro to fund rewards, they can’t collectively profit from that pool of money being recirculated between them. There will be winners and losers, and it’ll most likely be skewed towards more losers.

Pro gives you features in the app. It’s no zero sum.

I’m not talking about the features it gives you, my focus is on the idea that you should get paid just for being an average unexceptional user of an app. Aren’t the pro features meant to give additional incentives besides free money to drive people here (and get them to contribute to a gamified rewards pool)?

I never said average user. But top 3,000 (which is how many we reward weekly) is pretty accessible today!
