There's a firehose of content and with it a fire truck of misinformation. Fact-checking isn't cheap, which is part of why it's hard to do at scale. I've been testing the Narrative Index on just a few channels, and just 63 videos have already cost $53 to evaluate. This is small relative to having humans do it, potentially, but it illustrates the scale of the problem and why it's so challenging to combat. I'm going to switch the index to monitor Fox, MS NOW, and CNN later this week to see how it does.

Working on a new Narrative Index. It tracks the content from 6 popular Youtube Channels from all sides to look for commonality. Still need to add political leaning into here but it's starting to shape up! What would you want to see in this kind of thing? Channels included: - Brian Taylor Cohen - David Pakman - The Hill - Breaking Points - Ben Shapiro - Tim Pool Channels were chosen because they claim to be fact-based, offer commentary without extensive clipping, and cover the spectrum.

Misinformation, disinformation, lies, the loss of critical thinking skills, and a wanton desire for conspiracies very well may be the greatest threat humanity faces. In their shadow, anything is possible and justifiable. We need something better. Enter Polygraph. A few months ago, we started work on a system that attempts to fact-check anything using AI, human fact-checkers, and other verifiable sources. Polygraph can fact-check anything using AI text, link, and even videos from YouTube and TikTok. It’s far from perfect and the mission really is impossible, but it’s a start. I consider it a tool to help you gather data, usable in making more informed decisions. We’re still testing it, but here’s a preview. A video from Nick Shirley is making the rounds as “investigative journalism”. It’s not, but it does make a lot of claims. The hard part is that so many things can be stated in a way that makes them deceiving and unverifiable - making it hard to know what’s true. We’re still working on that. You can see what Polygraphs.xyz found in the link below. A few more examples in the comments. I welcome your feedback and ideas. We have so much work left to do before it’s too late - if not already. https://www.polygraphs.xyz/polygraphs/432
