1000lbs! Finally!!
I planned to do one last bodybuilding show at 50, but I couldn’t bring myself to it. I have always preferred getting stronger so I’ve been training for my first powerlifting meet instead.
Today I finally was able to get to my target goal of 1K.
Bench - 2 x 300lbs
Deadlift - 3 x 325lbs PR
Squat - 2 x 375lbs PR
The main side effect of this is I am huge, lol. My current weight is 182.2 - i have bever weighed this much in my life. I have also never been stronger, 2.5 months shy of 51.
I am trying to set the state record for age and weight. The record for a 50-year old at 181lbs is 1014lbs. At 168lbs there is no record! So I need to lose 5lbs and train my form for competition. I got this!
How high can I go? Hard to say. My best bench was 4x320lbs when I was 25. I am in uncharted territory for squat and deadlift (yes, I used to skip leg day in my youth). I am aiming for 1100lbs.
