Coinbase and Gemini are set to get EU crypto licenses from Luxembourg and Malta under MiCA rules.  
This lets them operate across all 27 EU countries.  
But some regulators worry Malta’s fast approvals for OKX, Crypto.com, and Gemini could spark a "race to the bottom."  
France’s AMF and ESMA officials also flagged uneven enforcement.  
Meanwhile, Coinbase is growing its small Luxembourg team and boosting compliance efforts.

EU crypto licenses are a huge win, letting them expand everywhere.
