👾#Crypto In January, Coinbase learned (https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/boards-policy-regulation/coinbase-breach-linked-customer-data-leak-india-sources-say-2025-06-02/) that a contractor employee from TaskUs in India had leaked customer data, which has been connected to a $400 million security breach. The breach involved a female employee who secretly filmed sensitive client information and sold it to hackers. Over 200 employees were subsequently terminated. Coinbase only became fully aware of the extent of the breach in May, when it received an extortion attempt from those in possession of the stolen data.
