I haven't been sick in a while and I can't believe how debilitating it's been this week. Quite humbling to be forced to return to my own body. I'm now trying to imagine worlds where our technologies are as sophisticated as the virus that has hijacked my cells.

This then made me think of this awesome paper on the "hidden virosphere" where researchers used an AI model to find a ton of novel viral RNA polymerases in environmental sequencing data

AKA they found ~162,000 new viral species!! wild 

We have so much to learn about the invisible worlds around us
