The fight for “super-intelligence” is a bit misguided when framed this way. There wasn’t a single company that controlled the “super-machine” during industrialization. Instead, there was a plethora of machines, each designed for different tasks and use cases. There was no single machine to rule them all.

The same is true for intelligence. That doesn’t mean LLMs aren’t extremely useful or valuable. They clearly are, and they’re already creating significant economic value.

What makes sense is the competition over the revenue generated by these tools, much like the competition among companies building, selling, and using industrial machines to serve different markets
