Imagine you have an app with user generated content abour real life facts. If you were to implement a system that defines what's true or not within your app, would you rather go for:

1/A council of trusted validators, maybe rotating on a regular basis?
2/A majority vote of the community

If you’re sure the users are real and there’s no reason for them to lie or cheat, id go with option 2.

But if people have incentive to game the system by making multiple accounts to tip the votes one way, then option 1 makes more sense
