Not married. Not planning to get married. Would much rather have kids and take my missus on a couple of extravagant holidays. First world problems.

Doesnt have to be an either/or you know. Its more of a legal thing really i think. Especially with kids involved.

Aside from being exempt from capital gains and inheritance taxes, I see no other legal benefits. In due course “cohabiting” parents will end up gaining same rights, driven by the continuous fall in number of marriages, at least in the UK. It’s at something like 10-20% per annum at the moment, and dropping.
