Crypto is at its core, coordination technology.
Crypto is most often associated with coordinating capital and assets which continues to be the leading narrative where crypto has found the most traction. Coordinating capital also has the largest financial incentive for obvious reasons.
The far more interesting coordination problem that crypto could solve is social coordination. It may not have as large of a financial incentive to solve but it certainly has the potential for very large societal impact.
Coordinating people and their actions is worthy goal for crypto to continue trying to solve.
I don't think decentralized social is dead at all but it's certainly hit an inflection point.
We haven't solved social coordination and most social media platforms have turned more into media platforms than social platforms. It's a tough balance.
I'm hopeful that we will see better and improved social platforms continue to innovate and grow but it'll likely come from niches rather than an all-encompassing social town square.
Humans are inherently social. That's not changing anytime soon.
