Today, I learned that a lot of retail shopping it outlawed in Germany on Sundays.
This make no sense in the modern world.
It’s well intentioned to make Sunday a day of rest and leisure but at what cost? If the populace and society at large doesn’t recognize this then it does more harm than good. This type of social enforcement doesn’t work. It’s attempting to solve a symptom rather than the cause.
Free markets always win and over-restricting markets is just a tax on the society at large. Especially markets for food and groceries on the weeknd.
