Would love to see this proposal from @cassie if it's public anywhere. Maybe it's time for Farcaster to become community-owned. It doesn't seem like a VC-backed startup makes sense for Farcaster after two good teams tried then decided to return capital. Maybe a more community-owned or community-driven entity is worth a shot now. Farcaster still wouldn't be sustainable without growth and/or some monetization of users so that'd still have to get figured out by any new steward of the network. Given that the SEC just gave guidance for entities to effectively ICO in the U.S. with a clear exit path for a network token, maybe it's finally time to seriously consider a network token for Farcaster. That would be a powerful incentive tool that neither Merkle nor Neynar had. There probably needs a clearer direction and target user before leveraging a token for incentives. The alternative to that would be launching a token to drive growth and attract users then do everything you can to retain them and monetize them to ensure the network is sustainable. Not sure the right path forward but I'm very curious to see if anything compelling emerges.
