Work and details of LA Night by Norman Harman. Harman's method is deceptively simple to describe and nearly impossible to repeat: a custom-built algorithm designed not to render but to corrupt, set loose on source imagery until faces smear, bodies fracture, and symbols come unmoored from what they once meant. What survives that first pass isn't a finished work, it's wreckage, and wreckage is where Harman actually begins, digitally painting back into the collapse, not to repair it but to argue with it, reassembling the debris under tension rather than resolution. The result sits in a lineage that includes Richter's blur and Bacon's ruined flesh, but belongs to neither, this is atrocity and glamour processed through a machine that doesn't know the difference, which is precisely the point.
