What do you guys think of this potential deal between the Trump family and Binance?

Does this harm crypto’s reputation or help it?

Some have already commented that they CZ denies this story anyways, but a lot of the lawyer crowd I hang around with were debating. One thing to know is that CZ went to jail for a type of violation that actually happens fairly frequently in domestic banking (JP Morgan among many) but nobody goes to jail for it, the difference being the Biden admin really pushed hard to make an example out of Binance (again, part of the systematic campaign against Crypto). Not to say they didn't do anything wrong, just huge double standard at play led to CZ going to jail.

No idea. I get the feeling that the majority of Trump's admin dgaf about crypto, even though it was a good campaign issue for them (Harris being very anti-tech in general). He has some very pro-crypto people, and some business relationships, but I really do not think it's as important as outsiders think. 

We've got some good things in motion (stablecoin bill), repeals of bad policy (SAB121, etc), dropped the regulatory harassment campaign. I think in general Trump just wants to be seen as "pro-tech", I don't think drawing much closer Crypto ties is that important to them, at least in the short term.

Interesting. Any sense that the Trump people would embrace Binance just out of spite/drawing a contrast with the Biden people? Or nah
