Reading @dwr.eth's blog. I would elaborate on this statement here to add that if you ask generally about a product, and they respond negatively, it means it's significantly worse. However, if you ask someone what they don't like about a product, or for how product x could be improved in order to ideate on how to make a better x, complaints don't guarantee significantly worse. It's only if you ask generally about a product and the default response is a complaint that you have something significantly worse

felt that this elaboration is helpful because I can imagine a situation: "See, Dan says if someone tells me product x is slow, we can just build a faster x" "Who told you x is slow?" "Oh, a few friends when I asked them what they didn't like about x. Huge opportunity!"
