did you get duped though? illegal taxis do that all the time, they are not metered, try to look for or hail Blue Bird taxis instead, if you have access to Gojek/Grab, you can do that too

fyi, crypto payment is illegal in indonesia, Bali used to accept long ago because grey area, until deemed illegal

another fyi, foreigners almost always get a higher rate/price at anything and anywhere, down to alfresco food cart, so don't feel you get cheated unless you have someone speaking fluent indonesian beside you
