I've had a few of those, and the silicone can absorb smells from the freezer which then impact the taste of the ice. Recomend finding a ridged plastic box that mold can fit in so the ice stays fresh!

Matthias ices šÆ, exposed ice cubes have weird smell since they absorb everything in the freezer and has that freezer burn taste even if it's just ice cubes in the freezer if not stored in a sealed compartment

I say trial and error, never know what different brands of fridge and silcone molds can do, from my experience, ice from silicone molds tend to have that silicone + freezer burn smell
