U.S. President Donald Trump may announce new sanctions against Russia as early as this week, before June 1, according to The Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the situation.

According to the newspaper’s sources, Trump is increasingly frustrated with the slow pace of peace negotiations and the continued military actions by Vladimir Putin. One of the sources noted that the administration is discussing options to put pressure on the Russian president in order to secure concessions, including agreement to a 30-day ceasefire.
