If you have handy kids this book is appropriate for them, but also appropriate for adults too. A total gem that way 

Includes instructions for a variety of underwater robotics projects culminating in how-tos for 2  ROVs, an easier one and a harder one

definitely way cooler than reading and doing nothing with that knowledge!
