Have you heard of the Rebound Effect? It's when new technologies increase the efficiency of resource use, but do not actually result in lower use of that resource bc of systemic responses. E.g. if you reduce the cost of lighting, you cover the world in it. Same will happen when you reduce the cost of blockspace
