"Why are people hyping TBPN? I don't get it." 1. Just like Hollywood loves a movie about Hollywood, Silicon Valley loves the idea of a CNBC Squawk Box for tech. “Remember that a person’s name is to that person, the sweetest and most important sound in any language”. 2. Clips. No one is actually listening to every show. The evolution was Podcasts > Video-forward podcasts > Streaming podcasts so you can clip into a bunch of bite-sized chunks to blast out on X / YouTube / TikTok / Instagram. See also the recent Gainzy pump fun stream clips. 3. People prefer quantity and fresh over quality and stale. All-In was the first "insider" tech media product -- but it's only 1x a week. They film on Thursday mornings. They often miss news that breaks Thursday or Fridays. And if you assume most people don't want to listen to an hour plus podcast, then a large quantity of hyper-optmized-to-the-timeline-zeitgeist clips will way outperform in mindshare than your 167th episode of the same guys yapping.
