Spend the weekend jamming on /farcade after I saw the Doodle Jam post by @samsteffanina Overall super fun! took about 8 hours to go from zero to a finished mini game: DoodleRun What I really liked: * Art provided for the jam; spent roughly an hour animating and modifying it slightly, but it was awesome to have some nice art to work with * Farcade AI was pretty decent after some problems with cold start * I loved the instant feedback and how easy it was to plug the game into the Farcade SDK What I could see improved: * Farcade model did not do any partial edits. Regenerating the whole game file (820 lines) took a while in the end * Model was not aware of changes I made in the code editor and regularly overwrote them. I had to tell it about the current code, which became quite time consuming in the end (see above) * Would love to see more boilerplate from the SDK—things like a credit screen or an easy way to handle “how2play” could go a long way in a unified user interface
