FADED LIGHT

Whisper to me the melody of old,
sing me that ancient lullaby of true 
one that olds warning and shame 
a subtle reminder of wrath
one thats coated in the shadows 
cried under a broken moon 
adorned with lashes of corrections.

Whisper to me that dirge,
one thats coin on lips of my grandmother,
cry to me those tales that even the moon adores herself in its warnings,
play me those chirping sound of crickets running to the shadows.
