"Simulated Horizons" by @noper✨
Landscapes have always been one of our oldest fictions, painted, photographed, rendered, remembered. On January 13, that tradition shifts again with "Simulated Horizons."
noper’s practice often holds a balance between emotion and technology, chaos and tenderness, with a kind of childhood wonder underneath.
In his latest collection, noper has built scenes that don’t belong to one place, but still feel oddly familiar. You move through plains, forests, wetlands, cliffs, open sky, fragments of terrain that could be anywhere.
Classic painting, early-2000s digital imagery, and modern machine learning all hover in the background, not as direct references, but as inspiration.
The result is familiar at first glance, then slightly disorienting in the best way: these landscapes weren’t witnessed. The loop makes each scene feel lived-in, a mood repeating until it starts to feel like memory.
