The Daily Program Presents: → "The Harvest" by @littlecakes A series of playful, eerie neo-folktales where strawberries, ritual, and luck shape a living mythology of care, mischief, death, and rebirth. → littlecakes is a thinly veiled alias. She is a Japanese woman living in the West. Her work using AI explores her experience as a native to both cultures, nostalgia, imagined folklore, and creating her own special space somewhere between sticky, messy, sweet, nightmarish, and the paranormal. 🍓 The Harvest unfolds as a neo-folktale, told through a richly segmented video installation. Shifting visual styles mirror the rhythms of a variety show, sustaining the artist’s collage-based approach. Set in a mythical world where strawberries are carefully grown, tended, and transformed into gifts, the work follows hooded caretakers and pink, fairy-like beings through cycles of nurturing, humor, mischief, death, and rebirth. The Harvest launches on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 1PM ET.
The Daily Program Presents: Forecast Loops Launching Tuesday, July 28th Video no longer means the same thing to everyone. Wealth, infrastructure, age, language, and power shape who gets to make and circulate images, who becomes visible through them, and whose histories get recognized by the systems that generate and distribute them. For some, this environment means swimming in a constant stream of high-speed, synthetic media. For others, it's encountered through surveillance, gig labor, targeted ads, or images imported from elsewhere. Contemporary video doesn't sit on one shared timeline. It moves as several unequal presents unfolding alongside each other. Forecast Loops, a new group show that treats this unevenness as its starting point. The show brings together 13 artists working across different approaches to the moving image: littlecakes Sine Saeko Ehara Riniifish Mindeye Linn Phyllis Seeger Julie Wieland Emilia Trevisani Iteration Deniz Korkmaz Barbara Chira, Misfits Studio nohygiene Infinite Mantra
