Moroni is the largest city, capital, and seat of government of the Union of the Comoros, a sovereign island nation located in the Indian Ocean. Moroni is the administrative center of the semi-independent island of Ngazidja (Grande Comore), the largest of the republic's main islands. According to the 2003 census, the town has a population of 41,557.
