One of the oddest channels I discovered as a result of our clustering work back in the summer is /tb. - 697 members (not just followers!) - Very civil and well moderated. - No one I follow follows it. - Excellent mixed media content creation. - Totally bananas 🍌

Yuval Noah Harari (author of Sapiens) was on @bankless a few months ago, talking about why truth is so hard to find these days. I tend to agree that the antidote to bad speech is more speech, but Harari makes a few points I keep thinking about: (Paraphrasing from memory) - we think about the time after printing press as a time of enlightenment but scams and lies spread much faster and for a long time (did he say 200 years?) - truth is expensive, hard to get to, and can be messy, inconvenient and not entertaining. Truth can hurt - lies are cheap, are entertaining, make us feel good. So of course lies will spread faster and take over social media Eventually, maybe tens or hundreds of years, I believe AI and social media will be a huge benefit to society. ok I’m team bring back Bernie Bros I think the young male needs to feel smart about something and definitely doesn’t like being shamed about anything (no one does though tbh) Bernie actually had a compelling vision for people to get behind unlike this is version of democrats which are mostly counter positioned

So here's a funny one. 6 months ago I was messing around and really liked the concept and term 'dreamcoins.' Thought maybe I'd do something with it so I registered the /dreamcoin channel and then moved on. Realized I still owned the channel this afternoon and reached out to the @dreamcoins account to see if they wanted to work something out but they are content to let me keep it so, well, I uploaded some graphics to the page but don't really plan on doing much more than that. Just to clarify I don't have anything to do with the project or token or anything like that other than possibly making an inspiring post 6 months ago. If the project catches on maybe someone else would want to mod the channel or something.
