yes i think they make a good base too, I wanna try mixing them with rice water on my next experiments with rice cooker

Tried it! Would probably be on the upper end on its own, but I added something bland (just a few pieces of meat) and it was ok. Actually I think they make an excellent base for a proper stir fry, I will try it
