Neil Gaiman's *The Sandman* follows Morpheus, the Dream King, and humans crossing paths with him or his eternal siblings. Netflix's adaptation stayed true to this style, but showrunner Allan Heinberg noticed it didn’t click with TV audiences as expected. The mix of myth and mortal stories felt less engaging on screen.
