We are on tank/rain water (I live up the road from @pjc ), so out water isn't hard, but if yours is get it properly descaled ... annually? They use a hypersonic thing. Get the head seal replaced at the same time Other than that... I don't do a lot to it, just make coffee, wipe it down to keep it clean... clean the head weekly... Mine gets about 4-6 shots a day thru it so not a lot.

Get a good tamping mat (mine just came from Aliexpress) Some good cleaning gear (descaler / cleaner / a brush to clean the head). Make sure you clean it (internally) weekly given your use (or more?) Most of all: get a good grinder. I have a Mazzer Mini at the moment, expect that to maybe outlast me (I'm 50).

100% - I have a Rocket Evolution 2, got it in about 2010... still going strong. One of the best machines (brands) on the market. I thought about getting the Appartmeno, but a) expensive vrs what I'd sell mine for and b) not as small as I thought when I saw it. So I kept mine. Expect it to last another 20 years or more, with basic servicing. Time for another shot I think!

there's "dropped the ball" and then there is this. Sadly, not the only thing Apple has dropped balls on in the past 12-24 months. Mostly sad cos the alternatives are crappy in different ways.

That said, I forget most of you are American and “coffee” is a pint of milk with flavouring which someone left next to the coffee machine If you need it after 3pm get an espresso machine or find a resteraunt which is opening and setting up. And prepare to not sleep

its not like Kangaroo Island isn't covered in... well, snakes, and other "normal to australia and very uncommon and deadly everywhere else" wildlife. That pup should be on Alone. She'd win. Easily.
