Cold War era spycraft was insane. I just learned that multiple cia agents were compromised bc they used stainless steel staples in their fake Soviet passport instead of the real cheap staples that corrode fast.

I heard the same thing! It definitely was a crazy time to be alive! I still remember the “duck and cover” drills that we did every week in elementary school. Each student would get under their desk and place their hands over their heads, as if doing so would somehow protect them from total nuclear annihilation! 🤣

A lot of people don’t talk about or remember this but we did duck and cover drills after 9/11! I think it’s just to make people feel in control and better
